I believe something is forged within us when we persevere. When we continue on with one last drop of strength. That’s how races are won, companies are created, and books are written. Maybe tenacity is born when we refuse to quit or maybe sheer grit and determination. I don’t know. But I do know that in my lowest moments, deepest struggles, and darkest valleys, when I’ve cried out to the Lord for strength He’s shown up every time. On time. Very often, the circumstances don’t change but I do. If you’re currently waiting for something to happen or working toward a goal, don’t give up. Don’t give in. Take the road less traveled and keep on keeping on.
Romans 5:3-5 challenges and encourages me. “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment.”
Lord, fill us with strength to keep running the race of life. May every struggle, every trial, every setback deepen our hope in You, which will never disappoint. Amen. 💗
