Finding Hope in Christ: Overcoming Rejection, Betrayal, and Death

What a precious truth! Christ's resurrection is of infinite importance because it declares victory over the worst thing any of us can face. What is your worst thing?

💜 Rejection? Christ was rejected. “Then the entire town came out to meet Jesus, but they begged him to go away and leave them alone.” Matthew 8:34

💜 Betrayal? Jesus was betrayed. “So Judas came straight to Jesus. ‘Greetings, Rabbi!’ he exclaimed and gave him the kiss.” Matthew 26:49

💜 Estrangement? Jesus’ siblings grappled with His identity. “For even his brothers didn’t believe in him.” John 7:5

💜 Death? Christ faced death. But He also overcame it and so can we. “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” 1 Cor. 15:55

In times of suffering and pain, it is comforting to know that we are not alone. Anything we face, Jesus, our benevolent Savior also experienced. Several years ago, I was deeply mourning the loss of a relationship. During my time of praying and crying out for understanding, I found great comfort in being reminded that Jesus felt the same type of painful rejection I was feeling. I continue to remind myself that while He was fully God, He clothed Himself in humanity as a man and experienced the profound sorrow that accompanies rejection, betrayal, estrangement, and death. Yet, He overcame them when He raised Himself from the dead. What a Savior we serve! Regardless, of what you are dealing with, you can find everlasting hope in Christ.🌷
