"How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!" Psalm 139:17-18
This verse has always captivated my imagination. To think that God’s thoughts about each of us outnumber the grains of sand blows my mind!
But it’s true: we matter to Him. The other night, as we were walking on the beach, I began to reflect on the first time I visited that same beach six years ago on a business trip. I had woken up early and was walking and praying when I looked down and found a sand dollar. It brought me so much joy.
Well, wouldn’t you know it? As we were walking along the shoreline the other night, we began finding sand dollars. Nic and I picked them up and, one by one, tossed them back into the ocean since they were very much alive. I told my husband that I wished we’d found one that I could keep.
Then, just as I turned to take in one last breath of briny air before leaving, I looked down and found the sand dollar in this picture lying there, waiting for me to pluck it up. It felt like a wink from God, especially since it was my birthday.
Have you had a similar experience when you just knew it was God reminding you of how precious you are to Him? ❤️
If you’ve ever wondered if God cares about the little things, He does. Monday evening, He filled this daughter’s heart with delight, and He desires to do the same for you.
